“Like apples of gold in settings of silver is a word spoken
in right circumstances.”
~Proverbs 25:11~

"The measure of a day is not how many things were accomplished, but how much of it I walked with God." (Author unknown)

"There is only One Savior. There is only One Lord. There is only One King. There is only One Person who will be coming back for His Bride, and His Bride will be those who made Him their first and foremost love, friend, King and Savior. His name is Jesus Christ, and He is passionate for you to know Him, love Him,
and worship Him alone."

"We don't need to be fenced in by our failures from the past; we can step out into the fields of the future and start fresh."  ~A. A. W.

“A girl needs to be treasured, not targeted and should not present herself as a target, but as a treasure."

"New Year's Day is a good time to fix one's eyes on the only one who knows what the year is to hold." ~ Elisabeth Elliot

He (Christ) endured because of the JOY set before Him.

Lord, I don't understand Your ways or thoughts at times, but what a beauty to know that my life is in the best place possible…Your hands, a sovereign God who knows what I'm fully capable of and gives me the strength to persevere.

"Circumstances may appear to wreck our lives and God's plans, but God is not helpless among ruins. Our broken lives are not lost or useless. God's love is still working. He comes in and takes the calamity and uses it victoriously, working out
His wonderful plan of love..."
Eric Liddell

There is no greater love than the love that holds on where there seems nothing left to hold on to

Your worst days are never so bad that you are beyond the reach of God's grace. And your best days are never so good that you are beyond the need of God's grace. -- Jerry Bridges

Psalm 62 says:
“In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge is in God.  Trust in him at all times; you people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us.”

“You are the same today as you’ll be in five years except for two things: the people you meet and the books you read."
~Charlie "Tremendous Jones

"A woman's heart should be so lost in the Lord that a man must look to the Lord in order to find it."

" God has a purpose and plan in all He does...Keep moving on, living life to the fullest, serving others and looking to
Jesus---no matter what His plan brings your way."

"Don't waste your life worrying and wondering about the future...live every day to the fullest, bring joy into every soul
you meet, and ultimately live to glorify God."

When you can't see His hand, trust His heart.

My God is still on the throne...even when everything seems to have fallen apart.

The Will of God never takes you to where the Grace of God will not protect you.

Dance with God.  He'll let the perfect man cut in!

If you do not believe, you surely shall not last ~Isaiah 7:9b

"Can God, who gave His all for you, ever do wrong by you? Shall you accept the good from His hand and then charge Him with wrong doing when something does not go your way? Shall you thank Him when He blesses you with what you approve but not thank Him when it seems bad and painful for you?

Is He worthy of praise only when His acts please you? His chosen way for you is always good and perfect and best. He is evermore worthy of thanksgiving and praise, even in the darkest times. Your trust in the dark so pleases your Heavenly Father. Your praise in pain honors Him.
J White.

"Your friend might help you reach some of your potential, but it's your enemies that drive you past your potential. Your enemies drive you to God - they are sent to make us pursue God more passionately." ~E.L.

Do the hardships in life drive you to God - make you pursue God more passionately? That's where I want to be.
Passionately pursuing God.

I'm not there yet. I'm not who I'd like to be. . . I pursue, and I painstakingly, after I lose heart, lose sight of that pursuit, come crawling slowly forwards once more. What keeps me coming back to Him is His amazing love for me - His love for me through the pain, and His love for me through the pleasures.

"When one door closes, another opens; but we often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see the one that has opened for us."
-Alexander Graham Bell

"I always knew looking back on the tears would make me laugh, but I never knew looking back on the laughs would make me cry."

When life gives you a hundred reasons to cry, show life that you have a thousand reasons to smile.

In the end, it's not going to matter how many breaths you took, but how many moments took your breath away

The best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a porch swing with, never say a word, and then walk away feeling like it was the best conversation you've ever had.

Don't go for looks, they can deceive. Don't go for wealth, even that fades away. Go for someone who makes you smile because it takes only a smile to make a dark day seem bright.

Always put yourself in the other's shoes. If you feel that it hurts you, it probably hurts the person too.

The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything they just make the most of everything that comes along their way.

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass…it's learning to
dance in the rain.

What seems like the right thing to do could also be the hardest thing you have ever done in your life.

Remember the past, plan for the future, but live for today, because yesterday is gone and tomorrow may never come.

That which does not kill us, only makes us stronger.

Throughout life people will make you mad, disrespect you and treat you bad. Let God deal with the things they do, ‘cause hate in your heart will consume you too.

The true measure of a man is how he treats someone who can do him absolutely no good.

Dream as if you'll live forever, live as if you'll die today

You have enemies? Good. That means you've stood up for something, sometime in your life.

Never deprive someone of hope; it might be all they have.

Strive for excellence, not perfection.

Don't waste time grieving over past mistakes. Learn from them
and move on.

Don't expect life to be fair.

Never waste an opportunity to tell someone you love them.

Remember that nobody makes it alone. Have a grateful heart and be quick to acknowledge those who help you.

Never underestimate the power of a kind word or deed.

Laugh a lot.  A good sense of humor cures almost all of life's ills.

I've learned that something that you do in an instant,
can give you heartache for life

I've learned that it takes years to build up trust, and just seconds
to destroy it.

I've learned that you can keep going, long after you think you can't.

The ultimate measure of man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times
of challenge and controversy.

The two hardest things to say in life are hello for the first time
and goodbye for the last

The best memories are the ones that you try to explain but
in the end….you just say…you had to be there

Everybody wants happiness nobody wants pain but you can't have a rainbow without a little rain.

You may not always end up where you thought you were going, but you will always end up where you were meant to be.

Sometimes you have to smile…pretend everything's okay.  Hold back the tears, and just walk away.

Funny how no matter how much we have, we’re never thankful.

Funny how one person can make you feel pretty even
on your worst days.

Fake smiles can only hold in your tears for so long

I asked for strength and God gave me difficulties to make me strong.
I asked for wisdom and God gave me problems to solve.
I asked for prosperity and God gave me brawn and brains to work.
I asked for courage and God gave me dangers to overcome.
I asked for patience and God placed me in situations
where I was forced to wait.
I asked for love and God gave me troubled people to help.
I asked for favors and God gave me opportunities.
I asked for everything so I could enjoy life.
Instead, He gave me life so I could enjoy everything.
I received nothing I wanted, I received everything I needed.

"'Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh;
is there anything too hard for Me?'"  (Jeremiah 32:27)

"'Always pray and never lose heart'" (Luke 18:1)

"Praise and glory to God for whom nothing is too hard"
~Elisabeth Elliot

"Measure thy life by loss and not by gain;
Not by wine drunk but by the wine poured forth,
For love's strength standeth in love's sacrifice.

And he that suffereth most hath most to give."  ~Ugo Bassi

"The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the
everlasting arms."  Deuteronomy 33:27

"Satan often brings along his best
before God brings along His best."

Practice is the best of all instructors”

You play the way you practice.  ~Pop Warner

God in His love always wills what is best for us,
in his wisdom He always knows what is best,
and in His sovereignty He has the power to bring it about.

SMILE, even through your tears! J

I have chosen somehow
(God only knows that at times it's like bridling a bucking bronco!)
to keep silent in my world of feelings and dreams, wishes and desires, and to lay them down at the altar of God, walking away believing there are, indeed, higher stakes in all of
this than mere desires.  ~Elisabeth Elliot

"He knows the way that I take; when He has tested me, I will come forth as gold" (Job 23:10) I don't need to know the way.  I need only to trust my Guide.  ~Elisabeth Elliot

"My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from Him" (Ps. 62:5).  In Him alone lie our security, our confidence, our trust.  ~Elisabeth Elliot

A spirit of restlessness and resistance can never wait, but one who believes he is loved with an everlasting love, and knows that underneath are the everlasting arms, will find strength and peace.  ~Elisabeth Elliot

God is in the waiting.  "It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect" (Ps.18:32)

If we are to honor God by trusting Him, and if we are to find peace for ourselves, we must come to the place where we can honestly say, "God, I do not have to understand.
I will just trust You."
 ~Jerry Bridges
